DESIGNING AND BUILDING PROJECT THAT PEOPLE WANT TO USE

What Does it Take to Design Beautiful, Intuitive, User-Friendly Applications? – The PRONIX Team!

The design process that PRONIX uses to create IT products (like applications, websites, and e-commerce solutions) that provide value to the end-user is called User Experience Design or UX. There are four basic components of User Experience Design (UX).

Branding

Design

Usability

Function

There are two sub-categories of UX that we’d like to mention as well, because they are important to the conversation and what we do to help you connect with your end-users.

  • User Interface (UI) Design
  • Useability

Although UI Design and Usability are aspects of User Experience Design, they do not encapsulate the entirety of the work that the PRONIX team undertakes when considering how to design, develop, and build a product that will resonate well with the intended audience – your audience.

To do this, a myriad of factors come into play, and each aspect of the end user’s journey with the product’s interface must be imagined, examined, and evaluated for value in the UX chain.

THE UX LIFECYCLE

PRONIX IT developers have been working in the field for a long time now. It’s become apparent to us that many development teams focus too much on the initial rollout of a product, but not on the complete lifecycle of that product. To build a product that will stand the test of time, we take the entire lifecycle of that product into consideration – from acquisition and ownership to maintenance, troubleshooting, and migration to the next iteration of the solution. Everything has to be evaluated in light of how well the product will interface with the end-user at all points along the way.

WE ASK THE IMPORTANT QUESTIONS – WHY? WHAT? HOW?

Sometimes, knowing what questions to ask is as important as knowing how to do the development itself.

  • Why does the client want the product, and why will the end-user utilize the product?
  • What will the product be designed to do? What is its function? What will the end-user use it to do?
  • How is it going to work? What are all the steps along the trail of functionality that must be built into the product for a positive user experience? What accessibility features or aesthetic aspects are key to include?

WHY IS USER EXPERIENCE DESIGN SO SPECIAL?

Unlike other aspects of IT design, management, maintenance, and security, User Experience Design has a “softer side” that must be considered. To do this, UX professionals are recruited from a wide variety of fields including:

  • Interactive Design
  • Psychology
  • Programming
  • Visual Design
